This Flying guillotine connected universe film has a wicked pace and barely 80 mins runtime. Still, as the setup is so simple, it allows time to deepen the main characters and provides a couple of nice twists. I didn't expect to see a topless villainess in a Shaw Bros wuxia - or a pregnant lead for that matter. My biggest gripe is that as a flying guillotine film it's not very successful as the weapon is not used that much, but as its own thing, it's pretty damn enjoyable.

An okay entry in the genre with a female protagonist, that moves at a good enough pace with plenty of action. The action is decent, but doesn't stand out in the genre. Ping Chen is good in the lead, kicking ass in the fights and selling the emotional scenes well too.

I went into this thing pretty blind only knowing it was from 1978. As some might know 1978 is my birth year and I am making the attempt to watch every movie I find from that year. I expected a standard Kung Fu revenge film, which this is but I was surprised to see the The Flying Guillotine make an appearance. Another thing that surprised me was the nudity in the film. Most of the fights and action scenes are solid but some of them are accompanied by really bad and annoying sound effects.
