The Veil

Starts off with a good premise but descends pretty quickly into using every cheap horror cliche in the book. I finally had to quit watching.

Omg, BillyShears is right, Lily Rabe does scream like an alien. It's alright. Worth watching just to see Jessica Alba get crucified.

A 'found footage' film with a documentary-style plot that was NOT filmed in 'subjective camera.' I could end my review here, which is positive. It's a good thriller. I think the low ratings come from people who are not fans of the 'horror' genre but instead enjoy other genres like 'comedy.' They were looking for something funny to laugh at and didn't find it because, like any respectable thriller/horror, it's a serious film.

Insanely bad. Everything is blue/green and shot through an awful fish-eye lens that made me physically sick to watch at times. An interesting idea destroyed by hacky filmmaking.

There's way too much going on here, and Joanou--a director I've loved in the past--drowns it all in an excess of style, fisheye lenses, weird sheens, and too much overall darkness. The idea behind this flick isn't uninteresting, and most of the cast is game, but it's just a mess.

A horror movie with lots of ironic hilarity. The mesmerizing Jessica Alba can do no wrong. Lilly Rabe was also gorgeous. Thomas Jane was overbearing and way over the top as you might expect from a religious cult leader nut job. The story is spooky and haunting, but not much was frightening. The crazy plot twist ending was a nice surprise. Not a particularly good movie, but worth watching. Not suitable for children.
