The Vatican Tapes

So much flare and crazily structured -- the dramatic core doesn't make any sense -- that is impossible no to root for a sequel. I would even give money to see a world-ending film directed by Neveldine -- and Taylor.

Really, really tedious. Which is a shame, because there is some talent underneath the tediousness. I didn't care one jot for what the hell was happening.

Quam absurdum! Gloriously over-the-top EXORCIST riff is admittedly a tough film to defend on an artistic level, but is so riotously funny in its self-serious(?) piousness that it becomes quite entertaining in spite of itself; the horror scenes are even staged with a fair degree of imagination and work quite well. While no-one distinguishes thenselves, the performers are all game to embrace the campiness of their roles and the overripe (and overwritten) dialogue.

Almost unforgivably bad. The fact that Michael Pena agreed to this actually fascinates me. What starts out as a bland excorcist flick, becomes even more bland and unimpressive as it turns out that its something a little more powerful... and boring. Don't waste your time. Not even so bad its good.

The most barebones exorcism film ever. Nothing new and largely uneventful.

An uneventful, unoriginal, uninspiring and non-scary movie. Honsou does not belong in a role like this, Pena contributed nothing and Robertson actually acted fine, it is just that the script was terrible. I liked the title, but the title doesn't seem to have anything to do with the story and it most certainly threw me off. The only thing you have to be aware of while watching The Vatican Tapes is to be horrible bored. 15/100.
