The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

By the numbers "righting a wrong" movie. Entertaining for an afternoon on the sofa.

This is a lovely, heartwarming film, with a real poignancy to it. Its not overly sentimental in a Hollywood sort of a way - its nicely understated if anything, I'd say. Jim Broadbent gives a very decent performance playing the protagonist. I like how the story develops - its not entirely clear how different people fit in to Harold's story at the start and the meaning behind everything, though all becomes clear after a while. I'd definitely recommend this film, yes.

A good adaptation of the novel-it has a fairly plodding pace but actually touches on many issues in the course of Harold’s journey. Superbly portrayed by Jim Broadbent.
