A very minor British comedy evolving around some stolen jewels and a unpolished diamond in Kay Hammond for one of her early films, years before he signature role in Blithe Spirit (1945). What's most humorous about the The Umbrella (1933) was the comic thieves looking like a low rent version of Laurel & Hardy. Not that any of this created that many laughs, even if the mood was pleasant.
