Was on board until the end, where the story just fell apart or was improvised as if the writers couldn't decide on an ending. Cage brings his usual jarring "acting" style to the film, while Wood keeps trying to distance himself from his Frodo days. It's one of those films that gets stuck in the void of movies where there's little good or bad things to say, making it ultimately forgettable.

I guess the moral of the story is; Don't trust anyone when you are doing something illegal and it involves killing people. DOH! Two cops decide to rob a repository full of something they think might be valuable. I loved how when they finally gained access to the vault the first thing he asked was "Is it full of meat"? From there the story went sideways, motivations became confusing, actions unconvincing which made the very poor ending feel rushed & stupid.

The first half of this film is a solid 70. Elijah Wood and Cage are a buddy team you could watch all day as a series, a movie, a documentary..anything. They are that endearing as a pair of loser Las Vegas cops desperate to get ahead in life. The acting is hilarious. This film takes such a jarring turn after the halfway mark and it all goes to shit. The shift in tone into a quite dark and serious heist film makes no sense. Worth a watch but only for the buddy moments.

SPOILERZ - The plot of the Trust is basically: Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Nic Cage good? Is Nic Cage bad? Is Frodo dead? Yes.

Man this film made me so mad. Nic Cage and Elijah Wood are both great and play off each other well. At times, The Trust shows a fair bit of swagger in its style but ultimately the wheels completely fall off. They had no idea how to end this film and its ruins all the good work they had done.

Cage is at full froth--and Jerry fricking Lewis plays his father--but the plot and filmmaking here never rise above the bland, straight-to-video level. It kills the time well enough, but a couple days after I'd seen it, I'd already forgotten all about it.

Falls off towards the end, boring script but great interplay from Nic/Frodo

Actually entertaining until the abysmal ending ruins everything. Performances are solid and the Coenesque plot unfolds in interesting ways. If only the movie could keep the tension throughout the entire movie.

Starts off as a solid Coenesque heist/crime thriller, with very good performances from Cage and Wood, but unfortunately it kinda falls apart during its second half.

70ler vari rahatlığıyla bayağı iyi başlıyor. cage *wackyyy* haliyle eğlendiriyor, wood ile iyi bir kimya yakalıyor ama soygunun kendisini ne hikaye ne senaryo kullanıyor.

Not terrible, but also very forgettable. What could have been an interesting story feels half-baked and a bit rushed. Many characters that feel like they should have substance don't have any, leaving a bit of a hollow after-taste.

The Trust does very little to liven up a tired premise, and during its few moments of intrigue and excitement manages to squander its potential with poorly written characters, mediocre dialogue, and a plethora of plot holes. However, Nic Cage is full form here, complete with over-the-top outbursts and oddball delivery, so the movie may just be worth a viewing for this alone...

A well-directed, uneasy if slight suspense drama with a wonderfully twitchy performance from Elijah Wood.

I gave up waiting for this awful film to start. It's another of those Suspense/Thrillers where I'm kept in suspense waiting for thrills

This movie was better than I expected but still nothing special. Nicholas Cage has some good over the top moments. The script has some weak moments and some of the dialogue is bad in this film. Overall this film is a slight misstep.

This time it's the script, not Nicolas Cage, that loses its shit. I would've liked it better the other way around.

It's no brilliant acting of Cage But surely it's better than the crap I saw him playing in last year. My opinion here : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2016/09/the-trust-2016.html [Full review]

Despite its perfunctory ending, and the clear budgetary constraints, The Trust engages you thanks to its off-beat humour and the strength of both Cage and Wood's performances.

I actually enjoyed it, which is nice. I like Cage a lot and think his knack for being ridiculous is endearing, and Wood did a good enough job. It's not original material by any means, but there's very little to actually hate here.

Surprisingly not terrible. This movie is actually quite funny, intentionally I might add, which is rare for a funny Nicolas Cage movie.

Unlikable characters doing unlikable things. Cage is interesting and looney in the best possible way, but his performance is wasted on a drag of a story.

The best Nicolas Cage has done in a while. Starts off as a hilarious dark cop comedy, though loses it's plot once the heat is on and gets rather stupid. They really could have come up with a better stuff there. But the lead-up to the heist had me laughing out loud!
