The Tower

This movie is not like any other movie. It starts off just like a Disney movie but the cartoon animals are switched out with adorable asians. Then the shitstorm accurs and all hell is loose! Not great but +++ for daring to be diffrent.

A great and very tense film that only over does it at the very end with an unnecessary self sacrifice, other than that a solid disaster film.

Before the fire starts, it's all saccharine pap telegraphing all the different manipulative ways it's going to try to make you cry. Once the fire starts, it gets a little better during the decently tense stretches that connect the telegraphed melodramatic scenes of struggle and death. There's also a graphic elevator scene that does not fit at all with the tone of the rest of the movie, even in the horror of the fire. Just watch The Towering Inferno instead. Even if you've already seen it.
