The Toll

Oh god, no, NO, PLEASE NO.

Almost certainly this was originally going to be called "The Toll Man" before the trend of Slenderman knockoffs died out in film. An interesting setup playing on straightforward themes of paranoia and mistrust are largely wasted in the latter half after the movie gets too into exposition. Still works out to be okay overall.

After a strong first half with a very effective creepy set up, the movie rapidly loses its momentum almost as if a different writer had taken up the job. Long expositions, endless repetitions of the words "The Toll Man!" (as if it meant something to anybody), bad performances, and a final 15 min that belong to a C movie. A shame.
