Kane Richmond (Jerry) is approached by Adele Mara (Sharon) to ask mobster Gregory Gaye (Joe) not to kill her husband. Richmond does precisely that but things get confusing when husband turns up dead having committed suicide and left a note. Husband's business partner Richard Fraser (Steve) and Mara find the body along with the suicide note. But, this needs to be destroyed as the insurance policy won't pay out if the cause of death is suicide.

A cheap crime flick from Republic Pictures. Not to be confused with the serial of the same name which came out the previous year, in 1944, which it has nothing to do with this one, also from Republic Pictures! It's a very talky crime flick. Economic for the studio that way. So don't go expecting a great cinematic experience with this B-movie, but Kane Richmond smooth tough guy talking managed to elevate the pedestrian experience some. Adele Mara had her moments too.
