The Three Maxims are trapeze artists Pat (Anna Neagle), Toni (Tuilio Carminati) and Mac (Leslie Banks). After spending most of their careers in the small time, the threesome finally get their big chance in Paris, at which point Mac realizes he's in love with Pat.

"We have this script about trapeze artists, who young and athletic should we cast?" "Oh, I got it! Leslie Banks would be perfect!" Ha ha ha ha ha.... Okay, the lumpy actor was "only" 46 at the time, but he was looking and acting as if he was at least 10 years older than that. Him in such tight sitting tights... ugh... now continue imagine him in such a costume posing on the swing as if he had legs to show off.... all chance in taking this film serious stopped right
