How did they ever think to cast Brosnan as a seductive British spy?!

Çok bayılmadım ama çoğu kişinin yazdığı gibi sıkıcı da bulmadım. Başı sonu belli, izlenebilir bir casus filmi. Tek eklemek istediğim, başrolde Pierce Brosnan var ama filmin yıldızı Geoffrey Rush oldu benim için. Sırtlamış götürmüş.

I'm a sucker for the spy genre ever since I started reading John Le Carré and Yulian Semyonov's sublime novels. It's such a rich genre where the authors have to be in possession of profound understanding of the seen and unseen world around us, the reader getting twice enlightened in the process. Alas, the genre doesn't work as well in cinematic form. This film was very watchable and the absolute highlight is Brosnan's seductive prowess. Surely the novel would be better though. /Athens, Greece

This film welcomes us to Panama - Casablanca without heroes. Very complex spy story or is it about spying at all? Pierce Brosnan is here better than in Bond movies.

Light hearted fun, with some pretty bad accents.

James Bond can suck it! yum yum

Mostly a bore when Brosnan and Rush are on screen. But Brendan Gleeson saves the film, and Jamie Lee Curtis is also excellent. If you're looking for a solid spy film, consider other options.

Decent spy thriller with good performances.

Since I'm a fan of Boorman, Brosnan (especially when, like here, he's not all that likable), Gleeson and Le Carre, I wanted to like this one more than I did, but it never completely held my interest, and by the end had completely exhausted not only my interest but my attention.

If James Bond weren't, well, "Bond. James Bond." It's dependent on the cliches of the genre with a dash of mendacity that's far more satisfying than Bond flicks have become.

Not suspenseful for thrilling enough.

didn't exploit the novel very well, but OK pic

Mildly clever little spy thing that fills in spaces with skin. Has a groovy ending, sports some tempting ideas, & spins around like it makes sense. At it's best when disrespecting Pierce's forward character. A special plus to the ad campaign which billed it as a straight thriller.
