The Swindle

Relentlessly fun, one of the most purely entertaining movies I’ve seen in a while

This was a very enjoyable tale of double crossing. The characters are intriguing, the plot twists kept me on my feet and it features some good landscapes/cinematography. Its more about the story than it is about big budget looks but its quite compelling and I enjoyed how things worked out. I won't say anymore so as not to provide unnecessary spoilers (hopefully). Yes, I'd recommend this film.

Viewed April 14, 2021. This is the lightest of Claude Chabrol's films that I've seen, but he still mostly elides the caper elements of this premise, opting instead to emphasize the cruelty at its core.

Decent, but a bit of a disappointment coming from Chabrol.
