The Student Nurses

An exploitation film that would have made Ebert happy, then throwing in a scene with an abortion.

I don't see any redeeming qualities here. The pacing is all over the place, chaotic direction, uninspired acting, poor dialogue, and it's excessively boring through and through. And to top it all, the abortion scene is one of the worst examples of bad taste I've ever seen on any medium - blatant feminist propaganda of the worst kind, уnapologetic without a speck of critical look or even an attempt to explore the issue rather than just pushing it down our throats in an aesthetically hideous way.

A meandering, sadly very unfocused slice-of-life drama that, unlike so many of the movies its marketing mirrored, was an unabashedly feminist piece that touched on topics like abortion. It's an interesting portrait of the early 70's & is undeniably brave for the era, but honestly I just found it a bit too cluttered & the characters weren't as interesting as I'd hoped. The pacing is slow & there's not much energy to anything that happens. Still, worth seeing. Crime it's not on DVD or blu-ray.
