The Strong Man

Capra first directing lead (after Edwards left, fed up Langdon). Rright from the zenith of Langdon's brief moment of being The Next Big Thing, landing it a quite warm critical reception at the time. Episodic at heart. Gertrude Astor comes on strong indeed; including the rather classic centerpiece of him carrying her up the stairs. And of course we've the big moment for the end with a strongman show/riot/March of the Christian Soldiers quite up to the grand finale snuff of the era.

Langdon doesn't do it for me on the whole, but this is probably his best work and has a great finish.
