The Stranger Within a Woman

Every expository scene where the “mystery” gets revealed has dialogue/character interactions so incredulous that I wanted to shut it off every time (and there are FOUR of these scenes). The runtime before the reveal frustrates in saying almost nothing while our protagonist squirms and looks suspicious. The attempts at extreme sexual desires comes off tame, ridiculous, poorly filmed. The characterization of the dead wife comes off the worse, feels almost puritanical. Quite a fail for Naruse.
