Although it contains numerous sequences without dialogue, this film and its characters seem anything but static. This is the third Rivette I have had the pleasure of seeing (THE BEAUTIFUL TROUBLEMAKER, 1991, and WHO KNOWS?, 2001, being the other two, writing in 2010), and all three were great, and greatly different. Without saying anything about the narrative, in my view the final conclusion is clever, fascinating and beautiful. Also, a great performance by the cat!
