THEY changed the story from the trailer!!!
Before the Antonio Banderas pirate is the one who steals the crabby patty formula!!!
Now it just disappears and this pirate suddenly has it And all the kids cheered! But I didn't cheer. I stood right up and started shouting. This isn't what happened in the trailer! Have you all got amnesia? They just cheated us! This isn't fair! HE DID'NT GET OUT OF THE COCK - A - DOODIE CAR!

Has as much gimmicky 3d as Comin at Ya, is just as weird, plus it has Antonio Banderas, so yeah, I can tolerate this. I may have been more into it than the 3 year old....

I thought this movie was okay. I mean the voice actors did a great job, as usual. I thought the animation was good. Although it was funny, I think it was still missing something from the television show(Probably because the original writer died). In conclusion, this movie was funny, not as funny as the T.V. show, and the plot was.....very imaginative. It was very entertaining!

Even as a Spongebob-fan, this movie was surprisingly hilarious. There's barely any cohesive storyline to speak of, but I honestly didn't care because I was laughing so much. Lots of childish gags, lots of winks to the older portions of the audience, and so many movie references I'm sure I missed a few.

I'd feel like a fool if I seriously dissected the foibles of this film. Me, a grown man, analyzing a forgettable kid's film? My grandparents just wouldn't understand.

FUCK THIS MOVIE FOR RIPPING OFF REN AND STIMPY! Why did this have to be the movie dedicated to Ernest Borgnine!??? If there is one thing this movie could have used, It is ScarJo! I did love the 3D bikini BOTTOMS though ;) ;) P.S. Points for Squidward pleasuring a woman.

One of the shaggier movies ever made, you can tell that they barely held things together, but like its main character, it's endearing and easy to like. The live-action stuff is campy as hell, and some of the weirder decisions (Matt Berry's illuminati dolphin) pay off over time. Worthwhile for fans of the show.

Unlike the first SPONGEBOB movie, which sustained its zaniness the whole way through and was brightly hilarious throughout, this one moves in fits and starts, goes for the soft chuckle over the hearty guffaw, and at its worst, is just basically a few strung-together episodes of the show slapped onto the big screen. Every child alive will love it, though.

You already know if you are going to like The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. If you like the cartoon, you'll like the movie. It's like a long episode that happens to include a lengthy live-action sequence near the end. It throws lots of jokes at you, many of them work, and it's certainly not lacking in imagination or energy. If SpongeBob SquarePants is something of which you are a fan, this movie is worth seeing.

Lots of fun, from a first half featuring the not-so-secret odd couple formula (one’s all smiles, the other’s all rage—see their great T-M-work song; trips inside SpongeBob’s brain, to Taco Häus, and through time) to a wild out-of-water last act complete with silly superhero action (the CGI looks good even if the green screen doesn’t). Moves at a good pace (you’re talking to a mystical dolphin god thousands of years in the future before you know it). Pirate hat-tip to the singing seagull gang.

Lacks charm and focus of the first, very jumbled plot like 3 movies slapped together. Not as bad as some other modern spongebob stuff though and at the very least Hillenburg was involved in it

I've always been a kinda spongebob fan and found this flick to be quite entertaining as it follows the lore well enough for someone like me. There are a few non-animated scenes thrown in for some diversity.

I liked the Mad Max references and the fact that the movie could poke fun at itself i.e using Spongebob's infamous laugh as torture. The second half (in which they left the ocean and got super powers) felt like an entirely different movie, which despite being marketed heavily wasn't anywhere near as fun or as interesting as watching Spongebob and Plankton trying to work together. Still just as enjoyable as the first movie. Recommended for children and Spongebob fans.

Spongbob is always a laugh and song but I would only recommend it for children and young teens perhaps because it is hard to enjoy it otherwise. I think I also liked the original spongbob movie. Because the stuff they said in the past made no sense here (e.g they didn't dry up, or look Normal) they were animated when the left the ocean which makes no sense if you judge it compared to the other movie. But spongbob can't be taken seriously and is always fun to stay in touch with your inner child

The show hasn't been since Hillenburg left after the original movie. So I was pretty taken aback by how good this was. The first act was painful to watch, as, like the current show, there's a lot of toilet humour aimed at kids. Once the time travelling stuff happens, however, it becomes relentlessly entertaining. I lost my shit when Matt Berry shows up as an laser-shooting, rap battling space dolphin named Bubbles.

While the first movie, felt like a wonderful and delightful adventure into and out of the world of Spongebob, this one felt more like a high budget and overlong episode. Granted, it has its merits in a well-written animation based script, yet as soon as it goes above water, it loses all sense and fun. It's not awful, because we knew what to expect.

Weird that a movie like this could be so divisive. It's just as good as the Chris Miller and Phil Lord stuff, to be honest. Be as stoned as possible when you watch it.

Nice Mad Max references with the post-apocalyptic, post-Krabby Patty desert wasteland. It was entertaining overall. I honestly wish they had dropped the part of the plot that takes place on land, and made it a roadtrip movie between Plankton and Spongebob because their parts were the best. I've seen like every episode of this show though, and I love it, old and new. This movie definitely did not work as well as the first movie did, unfortunately.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water did exceed my expectations, given there was hardly any. It's a very exciting adventure that challenges most of the characters and creates heroic storylines. Not to mention, it did a lot better in the animation than what I anticipated. I can't say that it's a great film, but it's an improvement over the first SpongeBob movie, and I can't really hate it.

I found myself disappointed, even though I haven't watched the show in 10 years. It had a couple of fun jokes, but the story was pretty lacking. A lot of it just felt like a regular plot from the show, and it took way too long for the characters to be put into the live-action environment, despite the title. I wouldn't say it wasn't enjoyable to watch, but I kept waiting for some great jokes to make me laugh or an interesting story to kick in, and they never really materialised.

Why haven't I discovered SpongeBob before now?! We sure didn't have heroes like him when I was young! Freaking cool how they changed animation on land, but did they have to cash in on the superhero craze everyone is doing?! But everyone should get high on cotton candy!!!

I've been watching and enjoying the early seasons of the show, but this movie was rather poor. The show's humour is childish, but that doesn't mean its only aimed towards children, though this film seems to feel more like a kid's film more than anything. I chuckled quite a bit throughout, though there's no big laughs and the incredibly dire storyline (reminiscent of the first movie's story, which was reminiscent of Finding Nemo's story) gets tiresome very quickly.

A step down from the first movie (and the early seasons of the show), sporadically amusing but ultimately bogged down in gimmicks and suffering from a fifteen-minute plot blown up to feature-length. It's creative, but the melting pot of ideas doesn't really hold together.

Not overly familiar with the TV show, but I found the movie enjoyable. Lots of creative writing and the 3D effects compliment the simple but nice animation. Gets a little tiring by the end just because of the manic insanity of the storyline.

Which is, of course, exactly the kind of silly stuff that keeps the SpongeBob SquarePants kiddie demographic anchored firmly in their theater seats. So I'm glad that by the time the eventual closing chantey of "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" is bellowed, there have also been some pretty solid songs and lessons shared about teamwork, friendship, loyalty and even self-sacrifice. Okay, so speaking as a die-hard fan of the original material, The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water will please the younger audience more than, well, die-hards. Some of the die-hard will like it (I laughed out loud more than I thought I would) but some will find it to be lacking in certain areas. I miss the original humor and writing so much, this feels just a bit empty. Some new characters seem somewhat unnecessary, but for the most part, good voice acting and colorful scenery. Entertaining!
