Check out the British episode of Adam Curtis' Pandora Box series to find out why this propaganda piece decided to leave a solid 25 years blank. Or just wiki it.

As you would expect from Loach it is very much in praise of socialist advances, and later in opposition to free market erosion of those advances. I'm not sure how this would play to someone not on board, but the interviews are very well done, and the film is not all idolatry, it isn't lacking in criticisms and disappointments amidst the successes, and its arguments are mostly evidence based rather than ideological. The historical content and context is interesting as well.

This is very well put together and despite covering such huge ground it moves along at an interesting pace and the images have a timeless quality to them. However it clearly only takes one perspective on society and it is filmed and edited to reflect that.

A celebration of socialisms past successes aimed squarely at the UK's present political and economic situation. He's clearly preaching to the choir but I'd prefer something more even-handed, with more global context.
