The Spectre

The character is much better than the story or short.

Although I found myself instantly guessing who the real villain would be, it's not a problem since this is a short.The 1970's grindhouse style is also perfect choice for a horror detective character like the Spectre who's kind of a Twilight Zone version of Charles Bronson's Death Wish, but instead of killing poor street punks which drives liberals apoplectic, he exacts vengeance on the kind of white and white-collar criminals they never seem to mind getting offed in fiction.

The killings felt arbitrary, lacking in either poetic irony or, it seemed, actual justice. And there wasn't much else to it, other than the hot-n-heavy Miami Vice homage setting.
