The worst part of the movie is the opening, as Conte addresses the audience to let everyone how awesome Bellevue Hospital is and that it's all fictional. It's as forced and awkward as it sounds. The rest of it is pretty good. Conte is his usual solid self, and there's some twists in the third act which really subvert your expectations. The location work, both in and out of the hospital, imbues the film with a lot of atmosphere. The middle section is a bit sluggish, but not dull. Nice music, too.

Conte's always cool in my book. The premise of an cop going undercover as a doctor in a hospital is a bit farfetched, but it's sold well enough and the film certainly does some good things with it. If there's one issue I had with the movie it's that the pacing feels off. There's a lot of time spent on building up the mystery and the investigation, and then the resolution is a straight forward rush to the end that makes little use of the complexities the rest of the film builds up.

Entertaining enough, but not very memorable.
