Castration, cannibalism and gore in its last 15 minutes to finish a deep dive into Chinese colaborationism during Japan ocupation in WWII through hereditary curse that haunts characters in 1990 so they never sleep. The very doctor that tries to heal the curse in a former girlfriend happens to be researching a way welive without sleeping and is the son of Chinese collaborator who had to choose between two Japanese girls - the unwanted left him with a curse that turned him into a bloody zombie.

I was not really with this until the end, but then it just clicked. From around the time the meat cleaver enters, this is just amazing.
