This seemed to be reasonably well made, and had at its core some good ideas, but it felt really quite slow, and lacking in tension. It didn't help that the characters weren't particularly likeable either. Not much was explained or resolved very neatly, and I think in this case it was to the film's detriment. Still, a couple of nice death scenes and a tidy orchestral score from Robert "Police Academy" Folk helped the time go past. Now I want to watch Police Academy.

The Arrow bluray has a special feature to watch this with the isolated audio of a live cinema crowd ... Hey you want to bring a bad theater experience home, here we go, marvel as some people laugh because a guy on screen has a moustache! Great location but a total lack of slayings, but the ones you get are pretty good. The ending is some I swear this was deep when I wrote it over the weekend high on Tab nonsense giving us a glimpse of a monster this really needed a lot more of.

Despite being an obscure slasher from the early 80's, there's actually some stuff to like about this. The performances are solid, the characters all have some depth to them, & most of them are likeable enough to root for. The premise, which predates Nightmare on Elm Street by two years, is pretty cool, if also very inconsistent. There are some glaring issues, namely the whole ridiculous ending sequence & a gorgeously gross monster who only appears in one scene. Overall, though, worth a look.

The story is pretty basic and the "dream" aspect to the story is pure shit. The film makes little to no sense which isn't bad but Sarah Kendall's character and acting are both nearly unwatchable. The kills are gruesome and the film is short so at least its an easy watch.

An underappreciated 80s slasher. It's not good, per se, but it is unique and has some good ideas, but suffers with usual low budget problems. Unquestionably a direct influence on NOES.

This once hard-to-find slasher is not a hidden gem, but it's definitely worth a watch. Tybee Island setting helps to build a nice atmosphere and the film must be applauded for trying something a little different; despite a reasonable budget, it has a very small cast which consists of grown ups instead of teens and keeps it's "killer" in the shadows until very end. It precedes Nightmare on Elm Street by a couple of years and shares a lot elements, but director Cardone is no match for Craven.
