The Sin Ship

Louis Wolheim's directorial debut! And his final film before dying of stomach cancer. Wolheim also stars in his own movie. A ugly mug easy to love! Mary Astor makes good use of the limited script she has to work with. And a chance to see Hugh Herbert in a more straight character then the absent minded persona he's most know for in a ton of 30s movies. The Sin Ship is still not a very good movie. The story could have been interesting with scum on the run, but takes the silly route of puppy love.
