The Silent Command

Fascinating espionage drama/thriller is notable for its use of tropes which would become familiar in the later spy genre - the femme fatale, the double agent, even an at times over convoluted plot. Not especially suspenseful, but interesting as an early genre entry, and marked by Lugosi's wonderfully sinister villain and a climactic boat chase and attack which is genuinely exciting and thrilling.
