This is a remake of The Lift but longer and with worse acting. The very basic story is the same but the details are different. Dick Maas remade his original and stepped up the gore but also seemed to make it as cheesy as he could. Part of what makes the acting so bad is the fact that the actors know the story is goofy as hell and the dialogue is piss poor, so its like they didn't even bother to try. Also there is a weird obsession with sex and sex talk in here which seemed out of place.

I'm generally against a director remaking their own film for a new market but when your plot is just too strong to pass up, you know, like an evil elevator, you just have to let an artist art. What a cast in this thing!

Turned it off. Awful dialogue and acting.

This is actually well acted little horror movie. Very good Marshall, Thal and Watts plus Pearlman, Herrmann, Ironiside or Hedaya. Dont really now why its so low rated...

It is hard to be afraid of a killer that is so easily avoidable that you can simply walk away from it. Put up an out of order sign and take the stairs, and you'll be fine.
