The Seven Five

Well-made if crude documentary about cops in Brooklyn who gave in to temptation and started working for organized crime. It was very interesting to hear all their firsthand stories, but, at the end of the day, I didn't like how it seemed to glorify these guys.

I'm surprised there was no mention of money

It's shocking that Dowd is out of prison for what he did. This movie did get me think about the difference in white collar and blue collar crime though. Dowd sold his services for $8k per week. The guy who Wolf of Wall Street was about (Jordan Belfort) was making that much money every 12 minutes. Dowd spent 149 months in prison or 12 years and 5 months. Belfort spent 22 months in prison, less than 2 years. It's easy to understand $8k a week. $8k every 12 minutes is beyond a normal person's grasp

Lots of ways this could have been executed better like building up the reveal of Dowd's interview or maintaining a more even pacing with splicing in his court appearance. Overall though it's a story that needs to be told, and one that's often too recurring in society.
