way too long for its plot. the laboratory was cool but every environment after that was comparatively boring.

I would ask what the fuck I just watched, but I'm afraid I would get a proper answer it would make things even worse. Creepy surrealism that exploits the uncanny valley to its fullest, interesting and mentally scarring.

Some great animation and atmosphere but the story's kind of convoluted and doesn't quite work.

The lesser-known stop motion film from 1993, the movie is a surreal journey with some really unique animation. Real actors are involved, but they're actually shot in stop motion so they appear to move at the same jerky frame rate as the sculpted characters. A hugely under-appreciated film.

Designwise awesome, especially the cybernetics part. Has a wonderful score which adds a lot to the grim mood. Too bad it doesn't make much use of plot possibilities rather than exploring it's distinct artistic universe.
