The Second

Overheated thriller is fun for the most part, with the generally sturdy performances from Blake, Colosimo and Porter (and essential support from Sacks) helping you forget that this basically lurid and torrid material (with PERSONA overtones) has been told (too) many times before. The country house where the action takes place is beautifully photographed, and as often with Aussie films, the outback landscape provides a quick cheater's way to amp up the feeling of isolation!
