Takes forever to get to the point and ruins itself almost completely before it does. After they get to prison it's decent and gets it's point through.

Awesome film. Really amazing reproduction of what it would have been like. A great story.

Sadly, nothing in this docu-drama surprised me (although I'm sure some of it was exaggerrated) but it burned me up anyway. Injustice is something that always gets my blood boiling, especially when it's someone being accused of something they didn't do. So this movie was pretty emotional for me. It's also very well put together with believable performances. It was mighty stupid of these boys to go into Afghanistan, but the punishment they suffered for that lapse in judgement was far too severe.

Mix of documentary and re-enactment resembles TOUCHING THE VOID in style; it fails where the former succeeds because both elements feel at war with each other - it may have been more effective if the "survivors" could have narrated more, rather than giving so much weight to the fictionalised elements. Still an interesting (and frightening) story, well worth telling - another interesting entry into Winterbottom's filmography.

Emotional documentary leaning towards propaganda. But nevertheless an interesting account of the idiocy of our system.

Weirdly crappy re-enactments considering the director, and the story, though compelling, is presented in a prosaic, didactic manner. I appreciate that the filmmakers have tried to present what happened with no embellishments, but the fact that the participants are lying about their experience kind of undermines the sentiment. Interesting and worth watching, but imperfect and a bit naive.

Exhausting, depressing, slightly nauseating, and unfortunately necessary.

Had this film put more insight as to why the three Brits went to Afghanistan, then this would of been a great documentary. Still, as it stands it's definitely a good insight of the situation of the area and how the people in Guantanamo Bay were treated.

THIS was an eye opener that's for sure... A bunch of kids decide to ttravel to khandahar ('cos it costs like a fiver or something) to arrive when the Americans start bombing Afghanistan. As you might imagine things only get worse from there... Particularly interetsing for me is the guard who thinks because our protagonists are british they should worship the queen, not the koran. well worth a look

Interesting mix of real-life interviews and dramatizations of the events. One of the best examples of 'wrong place at the wrong time.' I wouldn't say I enjoyed the film, but I would say that I felt it was worth a watch.
