This is either a terrible movie with a few great ideas or the most deeply flawed decent movie I've ever seen. If the director could stop shaking the camera in every single action scene, though, that'd be great.

Blake surprised + impressed. (Esp. slumped, twitchy addict) +, with few blips, 99% Eng accent & fits background (= mine!) | Condom vs Card shot = Neat | SPOILERy - 4 action movie, has 'realism': Loved her fear, errors, near death & loss of nerve. Partic 1st hit (THAT = real death): Voice, panting, panic, + reaction after - 80s heroes lose arms & shrug it off vs her & glass shard! SO REFRESHING[Looses that a bit by end (bus)] but great aspect 4 ME - Flipside = U get no ninja/MOVIE fights!

Guess I understand the poor reviews (plot is definitely a jumbled mess of who hired who and who pays who and who cares) but I’m always just kinda cheered up by spy movies. I think we all know now that it’s as bullshit as dragons or aliens or superheroes but it’s fun to indulge in the fantasy of this shadow world of spies around us wearing disguises and pursuing/assassinating each other in this unceasing cat and mouse game to advance agendas and shit

In line with all female assassin movies (Atomic Blonde, Killing Eve, Kill Bill, Leon, Hanna etc), this was completely preposterous. I mean, who in their right mind would spend time training a 7 Stone, junkie prostitute to be a trained killer when they can do it themselves? That said, this was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Sure, the plot relies on people never leaving their house, making them easy targets, but it doesnt try to make Lively infallible and for that, its worth a watch

The direction and the tightening of space, especially in that car chase, is legit. It's just that this Bourne rip-off's tone is so willfully edgy, with the camera so much shadows-broken-by-dots, and the acting so much screaming and heavy breathing, that it leaves the effect of effort. Good effort though.

Blake Lively is Luke Skywalker to Jude Law's Yoda but Empire Strikes Back had a more believable plot.

Very lame direction that drags everything down. A few good ideas here and there, but nothing new for genre fans. A (dumb) movie like this needs a faster beating pulse. You may even say, it needed a better rhythm.

Blake Lively puts in a great performance and Jude Law isn't far behind, though her role was a lot more difficult. She's always been good at playing cold but to be desperate takes work. She looked the part in the beginning. Too bad the story shits on her effort. Predictable twist to end. Fav scenes: the vulnerable drive to go into the water; the film's willingness to blow up the SUV (but it wasn't surprising).

Morano has clearly been watching a lot of Steven Knight films, and the direction/locations are really the only thing going for this one. The cast are fine but there's nothing for them here - the plot is far-fetched but presented as gritty and real, it jumps around too much, and while the the story is something that would have felt tired 15 years ago, like all too many modern flicks not enough time is spent on developing the characters you're supposed to care about.

The story about a deeply flawed and very unprofessional professional killer is an entertaining thriller that brings some fresh ideas into a genre full of repetitive, samey movies. Blake Lively is great as the weak, in-over-her-head but highly motivated protagonist.

Not spectacular, and it doesn't help that many other spy/assassin girl movies came out in a few years, making so it is hard not to compare it with others. Some others are better. I've spent more than half the movie expecting some "clever" plot twist and I guess they found a less clever one than expected.

One of the worst films ever made. It's incredible for how nonsensical the story is that it was a book, a movie and someone funded this steaming pile of crap. Doesn't know what it wants to be and fails at every turn imaginable. Garbage. Watched: 18-Dec-2020

There are a few compelling elements hereBlake Lively is solid and the highlands can't fail to be lovely on screenbut the story is a mess of conveniences and leaps of logic which just about altogether fails to live up to Lively's efforts.

Good, but doesn't live up to the worthwhile originality of its title. I don't think it deserves the bum reviews it's been getting either.
