What The Return of the Cisco Kid (1939) teaches us is that 'There's no fool like an old fool'. Bandit Baxter is in love and stops at nothing to make the girl of his dreams happy. Lynn Bari simply has that effect on him. The old romantic bandit has it's moments, but I missed a spectacular end to it all. Overall a fun take on the western. Cesar Romero can be seen as a dirty filthy Mexican, and I guess he made a positive impression as he would in the next film take Baxter's role as the Cisco Kid.
