Identifiably an 'art' movie, but one that can blend vintage genre stylings seamlessly and without feeling very much like a throwback. Perhaps if Mandico's films strayed just a bit further into camp territory, felt a little more like a cheeky b-movie, I could be a disciple. Even so it's nice to have some films that blend and bend to the point of becoming something that feels fresh and timely.
