The Return of Captain Invincible

Alan Arkin flies with his hands hanging down like he couldn't care less about this role or anything at all really. And he couldn't have been better in it. Christopher Lee's pet monkey/henchman half breed, Julius, is the highlight not only of this bizarro eighties musical, but of my 2018 as a whole. The me before seeing this movie was lacking in ways I never even knew.

Moderately funny superhero spoof. Several bizarre musical production numbers try to give this a Rocky Horror feel (and were written by Richard O'Brien and Richard Hartley of _Rocky Horror_ fame) but this is mostly worth seeing for Lee's truly hilarious, image-trashing performance as the flamboyant bad guy.

Far less fun than it sounds. Maltin's guide really hit the nail on the head with its capsule review: "oddly placed musical numbers seem to aim for _Rocky Horror_ ambiance but film is too badly paced for them to succeed". One and only one funny moment
