I didn't like the tagline of The Return. It could be like this ''If you want to finish this film, you should fall asleep and you should not press the rewind button!'' It sounds scarier and original, ha. * Casting, Acting : 2 * Script : 2 * Directing, Aura : 2 * Ease of Viewing : 1 * Naked Eye : 1

My probably score for this was a 1 (unwatchable) which is pretty close to how I felt. The plot was so convoluted and made little to no sense until the very end where they have to completely spell it out for you.

The Return wastes some slick direction and adequate acting with a painfully dull story and a complete lack of scares, leading to a boring horror-thriller that's far more likely to put you to sleep than it is to put fear into your mind. There are some movies that make you scared to walk around the house in the dark, while there are others that you can put on and be so completely at ease that you might just drift asleep while watching them. The Return is the latter.

"Sarah Michelle Gellar may have ditched the Grudge franchise, but her predilection for illogical horror continues with The Return." - Nick Schager

A pretty mediorcre thriller on almost every level. The story is mind-numbingly boring, and takes too damn long to get up and going.

A mixed bag. When subtility is used instead of heavy-handedness it's quite entertaining. However, it can't seem to break away from the current standard of horror movie frights. The plot, as with the editing, could've been so much more memorable if it was fleshed out and subtle throughout. Could've been so much better.
