With better pacing, acting, and director this might have been something worthwhile while instead, this was just forgettable and mediocre,

The director of this is capable of shooting nicely constructed shots and scenes, but the screenplay is a dull regurgitation of things done better in other films or were never great plot ideas in the first place. A director like this who has an eye for images should have experimented, or at least took a page from the work of producer Lucio Fulci and made a much more lurid but atmospheric work.
