Dry run through of the birth of prime time snooker and the slow death of Alex Higgins' liver and family. Virtually impossible to take seriously, and in places laughably low-budget, but fun.

A fairly flat, uninspired retelling of snookers transformational period throughout the 80's via Alex Higgins' cirrhosis and Steve Davis' gingerness. I can't see how anyone without at least a passing interest in snooker would get anything from this as there's little about it to recommend other its subject matter. The depiction of Higgins famous 69 break verses Jimmy White was quite impressively done though.
