Ambitious dual timeline structure doesn't come off, constant back-and-forth nullifying the LAURA thing, no help from Plummer's total nothing of a tough detective (his usual commitment notwithstanding). The prevailing effect is of a long noodling build-up to see what heinous shit happened to this hooker before she died. Needed more character scenes and fewer lame drug montages set to Black's own songs, which sound like an unfortunate combination of Sibylle Baier and the POSEIDON ADVENTURE theme

This is a really bad film. The characters are not well developed and the script is bad. There are plenty of slow spots and very few exciting moments. Overall I would say skip this weak effort.

Plummer often trips me out - not quite "Silent Partner" trippy, here, but fucked-up enough.

Decent low budget Canadian police thriller with a taste of the occult.
