The Professional: Golgo 13

Very stylish animation, but the plot is too convoluted and the characterizations too thin. Amounts to little more than campy exploitation.

Like an even rougher and meaner take on James Bond in anime form, saturated with blood and murder and boobs. I definitely enjoyed it, though I’ve notched my score down a hair for the final fight being a bit anticlimactic and a truly laughable attempt at CGI helicopters wayyy before they had the graphics to attempt that.

This is a very dark and gritty crime thriller that features a stoic lead, loads of action & gore, some T&A, quite a few twists & turns, and one of the worst CGI scenes ever put of film. If you like late '70s action films check this out.

Effective, and certainly holds one's attention, but mean-spirited and grotesque beyond the needs of the plot, even for a story about a professional assassin.
