The Primevals

i love the story surrounding its production and RIP david allen and all...but the truth is it's just not that great. well, except for the stop motion lizard people, i'd watch a whole movie of them just being mischievous any day.

You would never say that this is a great movie. Tons of exposition, people coming to realizations obscenely fast, even though they are facing something unheard of, bad acting, and some pacing issues. And yet, the way it unraveled, the sense of discovery where I couldn't wait to see what comes next, the stop motion animation, and the sad part with the yeti in the colosseum... it's entertaining.

Nice puppets, cheesy dialogue but unfortunately, kinda boring

The fact that this was in the making for over 50 years, that the script and direction seem to have been helmed by people who don't know how to make movies, the stiff performances, that the characters just know things with no explanation, that most dialogue is exposition and they spell out everything to the audience, the clunky editing, the nonsensical plot and development, the stop motion, all the creatures and the primevals' dialect; I'm OBSESSED. This is also Full Moon's best looking film.
