A National Geographic Presents take on the 80s slasher. The approximately nine hundred million drawn out shots of owls, deer, lizards, birds, frogs, spiders, raccoons, insects, salamanders and every other of nature’s critters you can imagine make the movie go from novel to annoying and then loop back around to just hilarious again.

A lesser and minor slasher that’s a bore with uninteresting characters. What sets it apart from the rest are the inbetween nature footage, that I guess in total make up about a third of the short run time and actually is among the few pluses of this movie, with some fine POV shots from the killers perspective with quick flashes indicate his burnt trauma and a nicely improvised naturally feeling campfire talk.

Very little dialogue and overall not a great movie, but I loved how actual nature footage of predator/prey was interspersed in the movie. Still, another 80s horror I somehow missed.

Well, this was not a forgotten slasher classic, but it wasn't the worst of camping slashers either; that honor goes to "Don't go in the wood alone". I watched the shorter US cut which felt considerable longer than that. They clearly didn't have enough story or footage and had to use nature shots for padding. The amount animals on display became comical. It's a pity as the horror elements towards the ending were not half bad. At least the Arrow Video Blu-ray was top notch.

This is a terrible movie, but is fortunate enough to be among the best kind of terrible movies- not quite so bad it's good, but instead so bad it's just oddly charming enough to worm its way into your heart. The acting is meh at best & awful at worst, the effects are so-so, there's barely a plot to be found, & probably a fourth of the runtime is just random nature shots, but somehow it's still entertaining. The cast is trying, & the campiness of it just works. For horror fans, it's worth a shot.

Some great moments here help elevate the film from being "just another slasher" film to something that isn't easy to forget.

There is a couple of good moments here a long with some shoddy effects and a hilariously bad looking villain. Not worth my time or yours.

About as good a FRIDAY THE 13TH knock-off as you could hope for - a nifty and generally well-done slasher with a fairly discreet use of gore and effectively menacing POV shots from the monster (if perhaps borrowed a little liberally from JAWS). The cast are neither asked nor required to do much heavy lifting, but they're a likable bunch who are easy to root for; a hilarious cameo from Coogan discussing the grisly details of a crime scene over lunch is worth the price of admission!
