Mark Harmon was decidedly better than I would've assumed based on the fact that he is Mark Harmon. He's pretty cool here and a perfect match for Sean Connery's respectable if cheesy persona. He also races atop cars rather than use the sidewalk which is a pretty hardcore move even Mike Lowrey would respect.

Connery is fine but Harmon's douche of a character drains almost every scene. Some clunky action scenes doesn't help either, but there's a fine 80's vibe to enjoy.

Bizarre casting choices and a script that feels like an overlong episode of Magnum P.I. make this a boring cheeseball watch.

Oddly feels like a tv show episode: slow, not much goes on, the stakes are not meant to seem high, the personal drama seems to be made to fit in some 30min of an episode

Lots of cliche 80s buddy cop oddly mixed with slow relationship and detective stuff- maybe if they'd either dialed down the car chases and shoot-outs, or turned them way up it would be better. Mark Harmon seems like a huge dork.

Like many late 80s/early 90s whodunits, The Presidio is impressively forgettable. There is probably 45 minutes of plot, with the rest of the film filled with oddly placed father-daughter issues and one-thumb bar fights.

Hyams' craftsmanship is clearly visible in T.P. It's a handsomely shot film, but it's let down by a weak script that no amount of technical skill can compensate for. The plot is boring and predictable, and Harmon is a complete wet blanket. On the plus side, Connery is typically strong in a tailor made role, and Ryan shows unexpected versatility. The action scenes are smoothly handled, especially the chase sequences, but the narrative moves rather mechanically towards its functional conclusion.

This unremarkable '80s actioner begins with a factory-assembled script and never rises above it, not even with the glowing advantage of Connery's compelling presence.

Reminded me a lot of Hunt for the Red October except on land of course and all American. So some losses in depth.

Even Sean Connery couldn't elevate this past the cheesy movie of the week status. Mark Harmon is a little too fratboy for the tough cop role and Meg Ryan is way too old to pull off the carefree general's daughter part. Highly recommended for narcoleptics everywhere.

Strictly formula stuff, though slickly done, with some good San Francisco chase scenes.

There's a good cast, flashy direction, and plenty of action here, but no script to give any of it a foundation.

Painfully boring. Probably one of the most chore-ish movies ever.

Totally silly, but Sean Connery's charisma keeps you from throwing anything at the screen
