The Postman Didn't Ring is NOT a prequel to The Postman Always Rings Twice or anything like that. This is a story of stolen postal bag being found 50 years after it's disappearance, when the recipients finally get their letters. We get a couple of quick deliveries, before we got the main story, where a over-kind young man receives old stocks for his greedy local bank. I'm sure they could have added or done more with the stories they picked, but it's a nice way to combine a few short stories.
