Nice little comedy from Chaplin. Feels a bit stretched out but it's never dull and pretty consistently amusing, if not funny.

Enjoyable, with consistently amusing to funny gags throughout. The ending is a bit of a puzzler, though it seems to be a take on the traditional hero story, where our protagonist is left to wander the borderlands without a home.

The jokes are sparser than usual and the satire could've cut deeper, yet "The Pilgrim" remains an enjoyable tale of identity theft that eschews the simplistic dichotomy of good vs bad.

Chaplin is hilariously sacrilegious as the minister.

This one really made me laugh, Charles finally making a short on the level of Buster. Lots of clever, intricate character gags (like the stolen bottle of whisky breaking and neither character willing to acknowledge it was his) combined with broadly hilarious silliness (the whole hat-cake bit had me in stitches for five minutes straight). And really, it's just an inherently funny scenario, which Chaplin capitalises on in every way.

A decidedly minor little thing from Chaplin, firmly rooted in his older stage business.

Nothing special. A few funny moments but a lot of the gags are way too drawn out and can become grating. Nice music but it needed to be about 10 minutes shorter.

A sweet sentiment of altruism begetting altruism; forgiveness; and just' deserts.

A string of fair-to-good bits that doesn't add up to much, but it's okay. Seems a little long for what it is, but there weren't any terribly dull parts.
