A silent Ken Maynard western! The Phantom City was remade in 1932 as a talkie starring John Wayne in Maynard's role. One of the better westerns of 1932 actually. But one thing that is the same in both versions, Blue Washington being the comic relief black guy! Hardly politically correct, but he just makes me laugh so hard! No one can look as scared as this guy! This western is a fun and action packed crowd pleaser. Sadly I only saw the digested 20 minute version with foreign title cards.
