The People's Joker

This movie has an audience and that audience is not me. I'm always impressed with the fortitude it takes to make any movie but with little to no understanding of what it takes to make digital backgrounds, I'm put off by the style much more than with something similarly low budget that has real locations. As a disclaimer, I recently loved Hundreds of Beavers which does similar effects settings but the comedy in that played more specifically to them.

The REAL sequel to Joker (2019) as far as I'm concerned. And a much better movie.

This will hit with the specific audience its intended for, and I enjoy themes of self-acceptance. The kinetic creativity, though flawed and sometimes poorly implemented, is chaotic enough to be fun to look at. This sometimes connects with its Batman parody, but I gotta be honest, I didn't laugh once. I might have half-smiled a couple times. I can't say I hate or like this. It just kind of exists for me.

A shoestring budget, 90-minute parody film reimagining the Joker as a trans character. Charming in its rebellious punk spirit and manages some unexpectedly poignant, relatable moments in its trans coming-of-age story. However, the amateurish visual execution becomes exhausting over the runtime. Some funny jokes and good music choices. Repetitive and lacks impact by the end. Best suited for a niche audience. A sequel is planned featuring a Freddy Krueger parody character. Score: 5/10 or 10/20
