The human trafficking portion is the root to this hell, but the problem is that you never really know or get to know the characters well enough to care wholeheartedly about their hopeless position. Becomes a exaggerated and clumsy way to connect multiple stories. It's gritty. It's ambitious. It strikes a tone. If only the script had been fine-tuned.
