Ever wondered what it looks like when a major Hollywood director spurts out a huge mess of a turd..? Well here it is. Yikes, poor Hawks! Also marred by a wooden lead in doorknop Jack Buetel. Iconographic rape-in-the-hay movie entrance by Jane Russell, though.

Jack Buetel is not a good enough actor to carry a film, and Walter Huston and Jane Russell's breasts are just not enough to save this.

Very iconic Jane Russell pose in the poster. In the movie she was terrible with RBF. Easy to follow plot that doesn't make any sense. Why would Rio "fall in love" with Bill the Kid immediately after setting out to avenge her brother's death and then getting raped by Bill the Kid? Then to set up an elaborate ruse of filling his canteen with sand so some expected 3rd party can catch up and do the dirty work? Fav scene: bickering over the horse.

I haven't seen much Jane Russell before, so I didn't know what to expect. Sure she looks good, but she wasn't a good actress and the movie was actually pretty awful especially by Hawks' standards. Maybe if Russell wore that special bra that Hawks came up with for her, but I doubt it.
