The Organization

Poitier brings life to what otherwise would be a fairly typical 70s cop flick. I still can't say the story made much sense in the end...although i did like that bleak final scene.

I found this movie looking up Raul Julia and then realized this was the third Mr. Tibbs movie. I decided to watch all 3 in order. This isn't really a sequel to "In The Heat of The Night", but the story was interesting with twists and turns, and holds up on its own. You don't need to see the others first, because even though it may be the same character of Mr. Tibbs, all 3 movies are completely different. Skip trying to track down "They Call Me Mr Tibbs!"

Poitier as a hard boiled detective didn't sound like a very good idea to me, and I had no idea that this movie was the third of three. It's a pretty great detective movie, and if the first two are better, as usually is the case, then you can color me in love.
