The Odds of Recovery

Ultimately, we are our bodies. Unfortunately, our bodies are in a constant process of decay and repair. Life is a slow, and sometimes more rapid, descent to death that is often accelerated (intentionally or not) by Western (i.e. highly invasive) medicine. But the response to this inevitable situation, Friedrich comes to realise, is not to seek out and accept the role of the sick but to take on the role of lover and carer for your body and those of others.
