It's a more obnoxious Amelie starring a little boy with the Power Of ~Magic~. This is the type of film loved by people who have more cats than human friends. It's so Disney that it farts Tinkerbells and should be ignored by people who hate everything that's cute, cloy, sweet and/or life-affirming. Also known as People I Can Hang Out With. (Please hang out with me. I'm so lonely)

A movie with a soft heart and an even softer head. It will prove insufferably cloying and obnoxious to all but the most Hallmark Original Movie-loving crowd.

This film represents the hollow obsession society has developed for children over the past few decades. The couple literally makes out a list of qualities for their wanted child as if they were looking for a new stereo. Unfortunately, that's not the only thing awful about it.

I started puking instanly when he first said mom/dad. Too ecofriendly and horribly boring for my taste.

Sub-burton fairy-fable that ranged from awful to inept (that soccer match!). If people like this did exist -I'd hope they never got near children.

Hits the emotional notes well, but fails on nearly every other level. A fine movie for a family watch, but the flat characters and uninteresting plot do little to flesh out the somewhat manipulative "sappy" moments.

Muito menos ruim do que eu imaginava, sabe como é, ter a Jennifer Garner como mãe normalmente não é um bom sinal de filme. Mas o mais curioso sobre ele é que foi o filho do Frank Zappa que criou o argumento para esse roteiro. TV aberta.

It is a typical Disney movie that pulls at your heart's strings and has 'feel-good' written over it. It is a fantasy drama and kids will obviously love it but even the adults can possibly enjoy it. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton play their parental roles quite well.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green sounds like a rip off of the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and the basic plot device kinda is as well... Both are stories of a magically conceived child that touches lives of everyone around him. Button is innovative and charming, Green is trite and derivative.

It's a double bonus that a film so much about family makes it easy for the whole family to watch together. Timothy Green is almost completely devoid of problematic content, and it's a rare circumstance for a wide-release, live-action film to be this clean, this instructive and this enjoyable. A charming fairy tale with a great performance from the child actor. It feels like an Aesop's Fable brought to life. Warmhearted with no trace of cynicism. Lovely.

Pretty fucking terrible. I would never watch something like this on my own motivation, but my wife rented it and I watched it with her. I cringed the entire time, and my wife even said it was terrible after suffering through it. Jennifer Garner has the dumbest facial expressions.

Pretty inconsequential fluff, but it's good-natured and sweet in the way most Disney titles are, and it deserves points for being truly kid-friendly in a marketplace where there's a real dearth of live-action titles for that market.

A really cute movie for sure. CJ Adams was probably one of the cutest little kids I've seen in a movie. He was cute without being annoying (as most child actors are) which is a fine balance. Edgerton and Garner were the quintessential "helicopter parents" not knowing what they were doing. The whole point of Timothy was to get the two ready for parenthood, and I think this movie did a sold job of that. His gifts that Timothy left at the end of the movie had me in tears. So sweet and wonderful.

I wanted to dislike this film, hard-hearted cynic that I am, but its simple charm, the wonderfully naif performance by the eponymous character and the bittersweet climax made that impossible.
Instead, my eight-year-old daughter and I both cried.
To me, that makes this a damn good movie.

Lightweight, fluffy, and adorable - the Odd Life of Timothy Green is never insulting or belittling as so many family movies can be. Instead it's a heartwarming family flick about the joys and terrors of parenthood. The premise may be a little ridiculous, but the film stays surprisingly grounded and rounds up a great cast of character actors led by David Morse, Dianne Weist and Ron Livingston.

A fantasy whose heart is in the right place--but not its head. The focus of the film, the title aside, is on Timothy's parents (Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Garner), who are rather frustrating and self-centered; a shame, since CJ Adams is quite likable as Timothy, and in his friendship with the enigmatic Joni (Odeya Rush) the film seems to find its real core, but all too briefly. A solid supporting cast add what they can, and there are some lovely moments, but as a whole, it's sadly uneven.

It is a harmless piece of entertainment aimed at families and children -- a fairy tale that's meant to teach people lessons, while also being a competent drama. It is both, successfully, although it easily could have been better with a tighter, more focused screenplay, and some unpredictability. Does it do the job? Sure, but the audience it's going after usually doesn't have the highest expectations anyway. And it's kind of funny, in an awkward and embarrassing way.
